ANGELICA ROSE
Principal
B.A. (Drama)

Angelica Rose is the founder and Principal of Voice and Movement Pty Ltd.  This organisation was born out of Angelica’s passion for the performing arts and making a positive difference in the lives of others. 

Angelica’s passion for the performing arts led her to complete a Bachelor of Arts (Drama) at Queensland University of Technology.  During this time Angelica formed a theatre company, producing, directing and marketing plays for charitable organisations.  In 2001 Angelica began developing a drama based program that fulfilled her vision of enriching and empowering our lives through the arts, and, in 2002 Voice & Movement was established.  Angelica researched and developed the unique Drama for Everyday Life Program that she tailored to meet the needs of students with Asperger’s Syndrome. 

Angelica completed the Developmental Psychiatry Course in 2005 through the University of Melbourne and more recently completed a Cert IV in Training and Assessment.  In 2009 Voice and Movement won the Apex Research Grant in conjunction with La Trobe University.  This research study on the Drama for Everyday Life Program has shown positive results in student behaviours.

Voice and Movement won the 2010 Whitehorse Small Business Award and was nominated for the Best of the Best Eastern Metropolitan Region Small Business Award.

Since its inception in 2002, the Drama for Everyday Life Program has continued to gain recognition and an excellent reputation in assisting students on the spectrum develop social skills and self confidence.

 

 
Trevor Dunn
Senior Social Skills Instructor
 

Trevor Dunn has extensive knowledge and experience in working with students with autism spectrum disorders.
Trevor is a qualified primary school teacher, having completed a Diploma in Primary Teaching in 1977. He has since completed a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts in Theatre Making through the Victorian College of the Arts/Melbourne University.
Trevor has more than 20 years’ experience in working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. He has worked in the capacity of Integration Aide, Drama Teacher and Program Manager.
Having completed training in the Drama for Everyday Life Program, Trevor now runs both private and group classes for students from 4 years through to adult.

 
Margaret Kempner
Social Skills Instructor

Margaret has worked as an Integration Aide over the last 12 years, assisting students with Autism Spectrum Disorders in a Secondary mainstream setting. She also holds a Certificate VI in Training and Assessment and has delivered a Certificate I in Transition to a group of students under the auspices of Swinburne TAFE.
Margaret has been on the Committee of Asperger Syndrome Support Network Vic. Inc. for 12 years and been its president over the last 2 years. Through her involvement with ASSN. She runs coffee nights for parents/partners and carers and assists with the AS adults group.
Margaret views social skills learning as an integral part of a person's development, to enable the individual to connect with the world around him/her and empower the person to be as independent and self-sufficient as possible.

 
 
Malena Martens
Social Skills Instructor

Malena has worked with students with autism spectrum disorders for the past twelve years. She has worked in the capacity of Integration Aide and Social Skills Tutor and is currently studying a Bachelor of Education (Primary).
Malena comes to Voice and Movement with a strong theatre background, having completed AMEB Speech and Drama Grade 6 and extensive amateur theatre experience.
Malena has completed extensive training in the Drama for Everyday Life Program. She loves working with students on the spectrum

 
 
Mary Schwef
Social Skills Instructor

Mary commenced her careeer in the legal field after attaining a Bachelor of Legal Studies, majoring in Sociology. Her passion for working with children and contributing towards their social and educational welfare saw her make the move into the education sector.
In 2009, Mary completed a Graduate Diploma of Education and subsequently attained registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. Mary has worked in a variety of Melbourne schools and has worked with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Mary has completed extensive training in the Drama for Everyday Life Program.

 
Julia Fuss
Social Skills Instructor

Julia completed her Bachelor of Psychological Science at the University of Adelaide in 2009. Julia has a passion for making a positive change in others’ lives and that passion has taken her on a number of paths including tutoring children aged 6 and up for a number of years and across a number of subjects; being a mentor to Iraqi/Arab international students by teaching them English and helping them settle into the Australian culture; and teaching English to refugees and immigrants under the “Language, Literacy and Numeracy Program” (LLNP) run by Mission Australia in Adelaide back in 2008/2009.

In 2011 Julia trained in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) with CISCA (Centre for the Inclusive Schooling of Children with Austism) and also completed extensive training in the “Drama for Everyday Life Program” at Voice & Movement

Julia has worked with individuals on and off the spectrum between the ages of 5 and 48 and has enjoyed every single moment of it!

 
Alan Hardingham
Social Skills Instructor

Alan has a long history of coaching and mentoring children of all ages, Alan thrives on the knowledge that what he does is making a positive difference. Alan has a Cert III in Government School Support Services and is continually training in the Drama for Everyday Life Program. He has also begun a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) Alan is a committed and valued team member of Voice and Movement.

 
Catherine Preston
Senior Administration Officer

Catherine is the Senior Administration Officer/Receptionist at Voice and Movement from Monday to Thursday. She has worked for the past 10 years as an Administrator and PA in the education and community sector.
Catherine has a BA (Hon) in Social Studies from The University of Melbourne.

 
Susii Harbard
Administration Officer

Susii is the Administration Officer/Receptionist at Voice and Movement from Friday to Saturday. Susii has extensive administrative experience in the areas of education, health services, professional theatre and community arts.  For the past ten years she has worked with preschool children and their families in early learning centres.  Susii has a BA in Social Work with a major in psychology from the University of South Australia.
