ANGELICA ROSE
Principal
B.A. (Drama)
Angelica is the Founder and Principal of Voice & Movement
incorporating the Drama for Everyday Life
Program.
Angelica has always had a passion for the performing arts and it
was this interest that encouraged her to commence a degree in Arts
(Drama) at the Queensland University of Technology.
In 1994 Angelica graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Drama).
Armed with her degree, Angelica formed a theatre company,
producing, directing and marketing plays for charitable
organisations. After 2 years a change was needed and Angelica
decided to move to Melbourne.
In Melbourne Angelica once again pursued her passion for the
arts and took a role teaching social dancing. As well as teaching
Angelica also took over the role of managing the school, training
staff and developing strategies for marketing and client
relations.
In 2001 Angelica decided to establish a school to enrich and
empower lives through the arts, and Voice &
Movement was established. The focus was on assisting people
in developing greater self confidence and self expression.
Angelica personally researched and developed the unique Drama for
Everyday Life Program that assists students with autism spectrum
disorders.
In addition, Angelica completed the Developmental Psychiatry
Course in 2005 through University of Melbourne.
Since its inception in 2002, the Drama for Everyday Life Program
has gained recognition and an excellent reputation through private
students, schools and psychologists seeking her assistance.
Trevor Dunn
B.A.
(Theatre Making)
Trevor Dunn has extensive knowledge and experience in working
with students with autism spectrum disorders.
Trevor is a qualified primary school teacher, having completed a
Diploma in Primary Teaching in 1977. He has since completed a
Bachelor of Dramatic Arts in Theatre Making through the Victorian
College of the Arts/Melbourne University.
Trevor has more than 20 years’ experience in working with
students with autism spectrum disorders. He has worked in the
capacity of Integration Aide, Drama Teacher and Program
Manager.
Having completed training in the Drama for Everyday Life
Program, Trevor now runs both private and group classes for
students from 4 years through to adult.
Margaret Kempner-Harries
Margaret has worked as an Integration Aide over the last 12
years, assisting students with Autism Spectrum Disorders in a
Secondary mainstream setting. She also holds a Certificate VI in
Training and Assessment and has delivered a Certificate I in
Transition to a group of students under the auspices of Swinburne
TAFE.
Margaret has been on the Committee of Asperger Syndrome Support
Network Vic. Inc. for 12 years and been its president over the last
2 years. Through her involvement with ASSN. She runs
coffee nights for parents/partners and carers and assists with the
AS adults group.
Margaret views social skills learning as an integral part of a
person's development, to enable the individual to connect with the
world around him/her and empower the person to be as independent
and self-sufficient as possible.
Malena Martens
Malena has worked with students with autism spectrum disorders
for the past twelve years. She has worked in the capacity of
Integration Aide and Social Skills Tutor and is currently studying
a Bachelor of Education (Primary).
Malena comes to Voice and Movement with a strong theatre
background, having completed AMEB Speech and Drama Grade 6 and
extensive amateur theatre experience.
Malena recently completed extensive training in the Drama for
Everyday Life Program. She loves working with students on the
spectrum
Catherine Preston
Catherine is the Administration Officer/Receptionist at Voice
and Movement from Tuesday to Saturday. She has worked for the past
10 years as an Administrator and PA in the education and community
sector.
Catherine has a BA (Hon) in Social Studies from The University
of Melbourne.
